NH Investment & Securities raised its target price for Kolmar Korea (161890) on July 4, citing continued strong sales and expectations for record-high second-quarter earnings. The target price was revised upward from 110,000 won to 120,000 won. The stock closed at 99,900 won the previous day.
In a report, analyst Jeong Ji-yoon stated, “Kolmar Korea's strength as an ODM (original development manufacturing) provider is becoming more prominent, as synergy cases with leading K-beauty brands continue to increase.” She added, “This positioning also aligns with the long-term trend of global cosmetics companies diversifying their production bases.”
Jeong forecast that Kolmar Korea’s second-quarter earnings would exceed market consensus, projecting sales of 743.5 billion won and operating profit of 83.8 billion won.
She attributed the strong performance to favorable factors such as diversified export regions, an expanded SKU (stock-keeping unit) portfolio, and robust seasonal demand for UV protection products.
“The stock is currently trading at a 2024 estimated PER (price-to-earnings ratio) of 18.1x and a 2025 PER of 13.5x,” she noted. “These valuation levels appear relatively undemanding, and the company’s valuation merits remain intact.”
