Samsung Securities raised its target price for Cheil Worldwide (030000) from 23,500 won to 25,000 won on June 27, citing expectations of improved business conditions in the second half of the year. The brokerage maintained its “Buy” rating on the stock.
The company’s operating profit for the second quarter of 2025 is projected to reach 92.2 billion won, up 4.5% year-on-year.
In a report published Thursday, analyst Choi Min-ha of Samsung Securities stated, “Although earnings will likely increase quarter-on-quarter due to seasonal factors, the pace of recovery in market conditions has fallen short of expectations. As a result, second-quarter earnings are expected to come in at the lower end of market forecasts.”
Looking ahead, Choi noted, “As market uncertainties ease, expectations for a recovery in domestic consumption and overall business conditions are gradually building. Given the company’s consistent growth in advertising volume both domestically and overseas, a visible improvement in the market environment should accelerate profit growth.”
However, he also pointed out that ongoing cost pressures may limit profitability. “The company is expected to focus on maintaining its operating margin at levels comparable to last year, relative to gross profit,” he explained
.
“Building on a strong foundation, Cheil Worldwide is likely to expand its coverage in areas such as digital, retail, and platforms, while accelerating efforts to enhance performance amid improving market conditions,” Choi concluded.
