Kim Min-kyung, an analyst at Hana Securities, noted, “MLCC (multi-layer ceramic capacitors) supply has tightened, particularly for industrial and automotive applications. In AI servers, power consumption is more than ten times higher than conventional servers, requiring the use of high-capacity, high-voltage MLCCs.”
Kim added, “Major MLCC makers, including Samsung Electro-Mechanics, capable of meeting high-value-added demand, are expected to see utilization rates enter the 90% range in the second half. Considering supply and demand dynamics through 2026, the market is likely to remain favorable for suppliers.”
She further highlighted that Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ package business is expected to improve utilization and profitability next year by securing multiple AI accelerator clients. In addition, preparations to supply camera modules for humanoid robots could serve as a new growth driver.
Reflecting this outlook, Kim raised her target price for Samsung Electro-Mechanics from 174,000 won to 240,000 won.
