HEM Pharma is preparing for its KOSDAQ listing next month. Yosep Ji, CEO of HEM Pharma held an IPO press conference on the 17th in Yeouido, Seoul, outlining the company’s business strategy and vision post-listing.
HEM Pharma specializes in personalized healthcare services and a live biotherapeutic product(LBP) discovery platform based on its PMAS(Personalized Microbiome Analysis and Simulation) technology, which analyzes individual stool samples.
Among its products, the LBP-based drugs for Low Anterior Resection Syndrome(LARS) and depression have completed development.
HEMP-002, the LBP-based candidate for LARS, has been approved for Phase 2 clinical trials by the Human Research Ethics Committee(HREC) in Australia. It has demonstrated safety as a treatment for bowel regulation post-cancer surgery.
HEMP-001, a candidate for depression treatment, aims to regulate gut microbiome balance, reduce inflammation, and improve serotonin levels. It has received IND approval for Phase 2 clinical trials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration(FDA).
The company reported revenues of 5.3 billion won last year and 5.5 billion won in the first half of this year.
CEO Yosep Ji expressed the company’s ambition to grow into a global entity, focusing on enhancing corporate competitiveness and generating high value.
HEM Pharma stated that the funds raised through this IPO will be primarily invested in R&D and used as operational capital for business expansion.
The company plans to issue a total of 697,000 shares, with an IPO price range of 16,400 to 19,000 won per share, aiming to raise between 11.4 billion and 13.2 billion won.
The demand forecast for institutional investors will run until the 18th, followed by a public subscription period on the 24th and 25th. The KOSDAQ listing is scheduled for November.
The lead underwriter for the IPO is Shinhan Securities.
