Bitcoin surged to a new all-time high overnight, boosting cryptocurrency-related stocks in the Korean market during early trading on July 10.
As of 9:28 a.m., shares of Woori Technology Investment (041190) were trading at 11,180 won on the KOSDAQ, up 12.02% from the previous session.
Woori Technology Investment is classified as a cryptocurrency-related stock due to its equity stake in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s major crypto exchange, Upbit.
Other related stocks also posted gains, with Com2uS Holdings (063080) rising 2.11% and Hanwha Investment & Securities (003530) up 0.43%.
The rally was driven by Bitcoin’s price briefly climbing to 112,055 dollars overnight, setting a new all-time high.
This marks the first time Bitcoin has surpassed the 112,000-dollar level, breaking its previous record for the first time in approximately a month and a half since May 22.
